NOTE: These instructions assume that you do not have an existing profile on Outlook. Also, the screen shots are from a different setup, so change

Perform the following steps to create the Outlook 2007/2010 profile:

1. Click Start and then right click on the Outlook 2007/2010 icon in the menu. Click on the Properties command. 

      >> Hit Show Profiles

NOTE:  If you are using Windows 7 go to control panel and change the view to large or small icons to see every option and open MAIL.  From there continue on to step 2.


2. Click the Add button in the Mail dialog box.

3. Type in a name for the profile in the Profile Name text box. Click OK.

4. The Add a new e-mail account wizard will pop up and you need to check the Manually configure server settings or additional server types. Click Next.

5. On the Choose E-mail Service page, select the Microsoft Exchange Server option and click Next.

6. On the Exchange Server Settings page, type the following information:
     1. Under (Microsoft Exchange Server), put in EXMBX01
     2. Under the (User Name), put in either the full name (Firstname Lastname) or the shortcut name you put in (yourname)
     3. DO NOT CLICK ON CHECK NAME It will fail until we finish configuration.
     4. Check name dialog box will appear. Simply cancel and move to next step.

7. Click the More Settings button. 8. You can change how Outlook detects the connection state on the General tab of the Microsoft Exchange Server dialog box. Do not make any changes here.

8. Click on the Advanced tab. Everything should stay as default, with Cached Exchange Mode being checked.

9. Click on the Security tab. Check the following:
     1. Make sure that the Encrypt data between Microsoft Office Outlook and Microsoft Exchange Server is checked.
     2. Login network security should be Password Authentication (NTLM)

10. Click on the Connection tab. Select the Connect using my Local Area Network (LAN) option. Put a checkmark in the Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP, then click the Exchange Proxy Settings button. You configure the specifics of the RPC over HTTP session in the Exchange Proxy Settings dialog box/
     1. Under Use this URL to connect to my proxy server for Exchange, put in mail.abomail.com
     2. Put a checkmark in Connect using SSL only.
     3. Put a checkmark in the Only connect to proxy servers that have this principal name in their certificate checkbox.
     4. For the Principal name for proxy server box put in msstd:mail.abomail.com
     5. In the Use this authentication when connecting to my proxy server for Exchange drop down box, select the Basic Authentication option.

11. Click OK on the Exchange Proxy Settings dialog box.

12. Click Apply and OK on the Microsoft Exchange Server dialog box.

13. Click Next on the Exchange Server Settings page.

14. To check your name now, click on Check Name. Put in your full email address (yourname@testdomain.com), and your password. The server name and your name should then be underlined.

15. Click on Next, and then Finish on the Congratulations! Page.

16. Click OK on the Mail dialog box.

17. Open Outlook 2007. It will then populate the local copy of your mailbox and you will be all set.
